Chess has taken off recently and is proving hugely popular. A number of experiments suggest that learning and playing chess aids the mind. Alfred Binet demonstrated in the late nineteenth century that good chess players have superior memory and imagination.

We have a large, outdoor chess set and are looking into providing an outdoor chess table and putting on some tournaments. It will be great to have somewhere warm and dry to play when we get the Community Hub building. In the meantime, come down and pit your wits against some of these players!
