Helping Older People Combat Loneliness

Older people should be provided with activities such as dancing and swimming to help combat loneliness, according to the NHS. NICE is calling on local authorities, housing organisations and the voluntary sector to identify and engage older people in physical activity that could help to improve their health and wellbeing, thus improving mental wellbeing and helping to retain independence.

Research from AgeUK indicates that 200,000 older people in the UK have not had a conversation with family or friends for a month!
